Hello there! I’m Eric Bohannon, and I’m the co-founder at PAI Wellness Group. Using my unique skillset and MBA background, I get the extreme pleasure of helping pharmacists create and launch businesses that they love and always dreamed of. I enjoy working with Asha, helping to create other IMPACT Pharmacists!
I received my undergraduate degree from NC State, with a concentration in finance, and my MBA degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. (We are Tar Heels fans through and through!) I have spent over 25 years in the IT industry, and more than a decade in helping to create and launch service-based businesses for Fortune 50 IT companies.
I was fortunate and blessed to find my partner in life and business, Dr. Asha, back in 2007! I absolutely love helping people and making a positive impact in other’s lives in whatever way I can. Recently, Asha and I had the pleasure of being able to co-author the “IMPACT Pharmacist” book, helping other pharmacists get out of their own way, get into the mindset of being an entrepreneur, and helping them avoid the pitfalls that most startups face.
Hi, I’m Dr. Asha Pai Bohannon, the owner of PAI Wellness Group, LLC in Raleigh, North Carolina. I’m so glad you are here and want to learn more about us and our wellness practice! You are free to call me by my first name, Dr. Asha.
I have a degree as a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As I was growing up, my extended family members and my own mom faced a lot of struggles with diabetes. While in Pharmacy School I decided to focus on and become an expert in diabetes. I am a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), and am certified in Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and Immunization. I have more than 23 years of experience in the health care industry.
After graduating and completing a Community/Primary Care Residency, I jumped into an independent retail pharmacy to try to create an impact in people’s health and wellness. It wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. For many years, I felt like I was feeding people’s illnesses instead of helping them get or stay well. I was being pulled in 15 different directions in one hour. I began to experience job burnout. As a result, I saw a decline in my health (both physical and mental). I was crying every day because I was missing moments with my children, I never had time for myself or anything I loved. . I was miserable! I knew something had to change.
I decided to build a practice around patient advocacy. In my practice, Patient Advocacy Initiative (PAI) Wellness Group, I use my unique 7 Steps to H.A.R.M.O.N.Y.™ process to provide a 360-degree holistic, individualized approach to helping my patients manage their health and wellness, using as few medications as possible. I am passionate about helping men and women manage their pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes, medications, and stress.
Along the way, I have been approached by many other Pharmacists to help coach and mentor them to creating a wellness practice to make an impact in order to serve others, as well as in their own lives. My passion for advocacy has grown into serving patients as well as pharmacists.
To help the mission, I have published two books entitled:
To Medicate or Not? That is the Question! How to Improve Your Blood Test Results with the Least Amount of Medication Possible, in which I describe my 7 Steps to H.A.R.M.O.N.Y.™ and the many factors that come into play in order to achieve a healthier life. My 7 Steps to H.A.R.M.O.N.Y.™ process provides a 360-degree holistic, individualized approach to helping her patients manage their health and wellness, using as few medications as possible. Dr. Asha is especially focused on and adept at helping men and women manage their pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes.
IMPACT Pharmacist: Start Your Own Wellness Practice and Leave Your Retail Pharmacy Job Behind!, which will guide you through their Biz Rx™ and IMPACT Pharmacist Online Program process and the steps you need to take in becoming an entrepreneur and starting your own wellness practice, just like they’ve helped countless other pharmacists do.
